Although the Hamptons home originated in the upmarket east coast of America’s Long Island, Australians love the sophisticated coastal style, usually found amongst the wealthy in their summer playgrounds.
The Australian climate and lifestyle are synonymous with space and openness, so a Hamptons home with a relaxed elegance is ideally suited to our way of living.

Starting from the exterior, you often see the gabled roofline and the more oversized double-hung windows, enticing more natural light into indoor areas. The classic feel of the weatherboard, with its clean lines, and the white or charcoal palette, add a timeless touch and a sense of coastal grandeur to a Hamptons home.
The interior features an expansive open-plan design with high coffered ceilings that creates a sense of space and relaxation, enhancing the holiday, easy-living mood we enjoy so much.
Bi-fold doors and windows flood the interior with natural light, enticing more of the outdoors into the home.
Herringbone tiling patterns and pendant lighting set the calming mood, and natural timber floors combined with a floor rug provide warmth and texture.
Floor to ceiling s-fold sheer curtains or plantation shutters add subtle sophistication to a Hamptons home, and the combination of warm neutral colors and coastal blue shades are the favored palettes for this style.
Pictures or samples of paint and materials give us the clues to create a mood board we can set up and easily interchange. Moving the images and pieces around can give us confidence as we decide what style represents our vision.
