Choosing artwork for the master bedroom has been on my mind this week! I love so many different types of artwork and different ways of displaying art in the bedroom. The type of artwork you choose can make a huge impact on the look of a room, so choosing the right one is important. For a bedroom, it needs to be a soothing and restful space, so any artwork in the room needs to go hand in hand with that. Here are some bedroom artwork ideas for a little inspiration!
A gallery wall is a great way to display artwork in the master bedroom! It means you can display a few of your favourite art pieces in one go and it’s also a great way to add a personal touch, by mixing art with family photos. I also love the idea of the picture shelves above the bed, as seen in the room above, this is a convenient way to display art that can be easily changed at any time. A gallery wall is also more flexible in terms of size, as you can make the collection of artworks as big or small as you want. Check out our blog on creating a gallery wall here.
One large artwork above the bed is a bold way to decorate. One large artwork works perfectly in a bedroom and sets the tone of the room. It is a great practical way to add colour to a neutral room and add instant style. The size of the artwork will depend on the size of the master bedroom, so keep this in mind when choosing a large artwork for a bedroom. There are so many great choices of oversized artwork, including painting and typography, and affordable online stores selling prints, that it doesn’t have to cost the earth to add artwork to your home.
This has to be my favourite type of artwork at the moment! I love the look of a large photography print in a bedroom! Landscape photography looks great in a bedroom and either colour or black and white photography. Landscape photography prints seem to be popping up a lot in décor at the moment, it’s a great way to add subtle colour to a room and also bring the outdoors in. If you don’t want a large piece in your bedroom a collection of photographs can look just as beautiful!
