We love sharing our real renovations with you because renovating is what we do best! Our latest renovation is a small unit which needed a makeover to make it an inviting place for guests to stay. Belinda W worked on this space and the makeover is incredible!

The unit was a space underneath the house which was a little dark and heavy. To lift the whole look we set about adding more light through paint and furnishings. We wanted to create a slightly industrial feel but keep everything neutral and still compliment the aesthetic in the upstairs home. This unit is a holiday rental on Air bnb, so we needed to make sure it was updated to accommodate all guests needs. As you can see below the unit needed to be lightened up.

To update the look of the unit and brighten the space firstly we painted all the walls in  neutral soft off white – Astor White by Wattyl . Some of the walls had textured board on them so we painted them in a feature colour which is Deep Aubergine by Dulux .

We added a small kitchenette with light cabinets and added a few dark focal points, including black handles and dark grout.  By using off cuts of marble for the kitchen bench, we created a designer look without the cost. The aim for this unit was to be used as a holiday rental, so we added a laundry in the walk in pantry to make sure guests have all the amenities they need.

We updated the bathroom with neutral colours, using a textured grey stone tile on the shower wall and floor and white subway tiles on the wall. We kept the colours in the bathroom light, which made it feel fresh and modern.

The flooring throughout the unit needed to be durable and easy to clean, but also look great! We chose a lime washed look vinyl plank from Godfrey Hirst Floors.

The client was extremely happy with the renovation and we achieved everything needed for the space. This gorgeous unit is now for rent on Air bnb, find out more here.

We love being able to completely renovate and still stick to a budget, achieving amazing results while cleverly cutting costs.
