New York City
It is one of those places that inspires almost anyone, but of course being design addicts we are totally besotted by New York City architecture and design.
From the first time I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s to watching every episode of Sex and the City, my love affair with the architecture of New York was cemented. The thing about this city, is the varieties of architecture and design meld together to create an eclectic feel. From old buildings draped in history to new age modern lines, this is a place that can only be described as architecturally inspiring!
The loft style living of New York City is characterised by open spaces, large windows and open plan living, these spaces create a relaxed style of living amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. Another prominent style of architecture you will find in New York are the brownstones, which are mostly found in the upper west side of Manhattan and Brooklyn, these townhouses are clad in a brown stone and have distinctive features which set them apart from other styles of architecture.
When you think of New York style interiors a mix of industrial, modern lines and monochrome colour palettes come to mind, but there are also a lot of more traditional style homes in New York City which focus on classic interiors. In different boroughs of New York you will find the interiors focus on a vintage look, often collected from flea markets and antique stores. Once the mixture of interior styles are what make this eclectic city so vibrant and inspiring.
